Mini-Kickers – Football session for Reception & Year 1 (4-6yrs)
The objective of Mini-kickers is to replicate the back garden environment in which most young players are introduced to football by helping to educate parents on activities that can be used in this situation. These specific physical play programs for children from 4-6 years old are aimed at giving children their first real taste of ‘proper’ football.
How Does It Work?
We provide a progressive weekly age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on ball mastery, 1v1 situations, passing, shooting/striking, defending and overall individual player development. This can be differentiated from a traditional recreational program where the focus is to develop a team rather than develop the player.
Experienced & qualified club coaches are available at every session to deliver the weekly lesson plan.
Mini-kickers uses football to develop not only coordination skills but emphasises socialisation. The program is about a great deal more than just developing a child’s affinity and control with the ball, it is about giving them a well-rounded start in their physical, social and educational development and developing the ‘whole child’.
Benefits include: balance and coordination improvement, increased self confidence and improved social skills.
